Locweld wins a prize

The Locweld company in Candiac won a distinction aimed at highlighting the quality of its management and performance. The company won the Prix performance Québec – regional distinction. It was presented to him by the Mouvement québécois de la qualité on behalf of the government and the Ministry of Economy and Innovation on the sidelines of the Salon on Best Business Practices, held in November. Eleven other Quebec organizations were recognized on this occasion, including five other companies in the same category. The Prix performance Québec aims to recognize the efforts of private companies and public organizations in their quest for excellence. “All these organizations have in common the application of the principles of quality management and the implementation of best business practices,” says the regional Model government Locweld designs and manufactures truss or tubular pylons, distribution stations and bridge structures, while offering custom manufacturing. The Iberville Avenue company employs some 150 people. It is presented as a model of management and performance because of its culture of continuous improvement developed in a lean approach , that is to say, which places the customer and employees at the heart of its priorities. Its strategic planning leads to concrete actions, including a plan of global initiatives, monthly management meetings including a systematic review of the results obtained for each of the performance indicators and concerted action plans. Locweld recently won a $ 50 million contract with Hydro-Québecfor the construction of the 745 kV Micoua-Saguenay line.
