Project Highlights
In collaboration with Hydro One, Locweld provided 1200 tons of steel structures to construct the Parkway Substation in Markham, Ontario. The project consisted of a mix of tubular poles, H-frame and A-frame lattice towers. This project marked a personal record for Locweld in the magnitude of the substation built.
‘’this is the first station of its size to be built in Ontario in 15 years.’’
Canada NewsWire | T&D World Magazine
“This is the largest substation structure that Locweld ever created. There were a very large number of tubular supports in the form of an ellipse. The large volume and the difficulty in meeting the delivery deadlines contributed to the great challenge of this project.”
Maurice Brunet
Sr. Engineer at Locweld
